Heritage turkeys: pasture-raised with local non-GMO grains
26 in stock
Description
Heritage turkeys are excellent foragers. They grow slower than conventional commercial breeds, and have larger legs and smaller (more natural-sized breasts) and thus a larger ratio of dark to white meat. They also do not get as big as conventional turkeys and generally average between 15-22lbs.
Raised outdoors in fresh air and verdant pasture, moved daily to new grass, and with free range to express their natural instincts, they derive a large amount of their feed from the grasses and forage, bugs and worms and in turn, stimulate soil health and fertilize the pasture as they grow.
The flavor profile of pasture-raised heritage turkey raised outdoors in as natural a way as possible is unbeatable. Moist and succulent with beautiful dark meat and healthy pasture-raised fat, these turkeys are second-to-none when it comes to flavor.
Price: $10/lb
