Our Rainbow Ranger meat chickens are pasture-raised in fresh open air mobile coops. They’re moved at least twice daily to fresh pasture where they forage for grasses, bugs, worms, and grubs.
They are also fed local non-GMO grains, spent grains from our local brewery, and milk from our grass-fed Jersey cows.
They are a well-balanced breed with excellent white-to-dark meat ratio (though because they are raised outdoors and can move and exercise to their heart’s content, there is significantly less white meat than commercially available chickens). Their meat is succulent, nutrient-dense, filling, moist, tender, and incredibly flavorful with lovely marbling and grass-based fat.
Our chickens are processed right here on the farm throughout the summer and fall. If by chance you’d like to watch the process, you’re certainly welcome. *When you reserve a bird, you’ll pay a $5 deposit; the balance of $20 will be due when you pickup.
Limited quantities are available. Our first harvest of 2023 will be mid-June (when you reserve a bird, you’ll be notified of the next harvest date and can pick up fresh or frozen birds right from the farm).
